MCQUEEN

Skull designs and prints have never been something I would have picked as a want of mine, but Sarah Burton, creative direction for Alexander McQueen, changed my mind completely. Her clutch designs, here, from the Spring Summer 2012 collection shows femininity with hints of power, strength and rebellion. The pearl encrusted clutch has an insane amount of detail, with a golden skull feature on the top, which made it to the Harpers Bazaar top 25 bags and shoes list for S/S2012. Along with the immaculate accessory designs, their runway show was to die for, along with the idea behind the collection.

"I was thinking about a woman as an object of desire. We go to such lengths to adorn ourselves that we almost become our clothes or are taken over by them. This is a collection about excess - an exploration of ideals of beauty at their most extreme.” Sarah Burton

Pastel pinks, golds, oranges, purples and blacks were the colours for AM this season, giving customers and viewers a huge range to watch in awe over. You can view the whole runway show here or the lookbook for the show here, prepare to be amazed.
