Friday night was a night of bling, gold, jewellery, gold, cake, candles and some more gold. Kiara and I went to Generics 5th Birthday Party, held at their new installation space in Perth's 140William building. I've always loved their unique and affordable pieces in some of my favourite local Perth stores like Merge, Frankii and Harry and Gretel, so when they opened a shop of their own I was over the moon! (which might I add is conveniently located next to my work... bye bye pay cheque). Everything from necklaces and bracelets to hats and bags, Generics has the ultimate statement piece to complete any outfit and make it incredibly amazing!

The number one highlight of the week for a shopaholic is pay day. With my shopping funds running low from balancing my real life shopping addiction to my online one, come Wednesday pay day I took it upon myself to add a few new addictions to the wardrobe.
Texture, print and pattern seem to be a regular occurrence in my collection. With the weather starting to warm up, I felt I needed to bring in some light wash denim. With studs being one of my favourites at the moment, you can’t go wrong with a little detail on the collar either. Another favourite on the scene is digital mirroring prints- so when I saw this skirt on the new arrival list at Forever New (which comes in an amazing dress too) I couldn’t help myself. Hopefully now with Spring in the air, I can start to wear a few more of my Summer purchases from Europe, like my H&M panther printed high waisted shorts, but with a bit of chill still looming, pairing it with my long sleeved sequin top from Sportsgirl adds just enough warmth. As well as being an incredibly crafted top and full of sparkle, you can flip it around and voilĂ ! It doubles as a jacket. Who could say no to that?
Happy Friday!

Lilac polish: Barry M, Glitter polish: Seed

Ive been chasing the perfect glitter nail polish for as long as I can remember, a kind that doesnt come out one piece of glitter per stroke, and one that doesnt make me look like I'm a 7 year old child. I finally stumbled across it in a place I least expected; Seed! I've always loved the store for its cosy knits and laid back clothes, but they are so on trend now that I think they will be becoming a new place to go to when Im outfit hunting. And for $12.95 rather than the hefty $30 I normally pay for an OPI, who could resist?

With Spring less than a month away, I felt my makeup collection needed some new additions for the new season, so I took an extremely dangerous trip into Napoleon Perdis for some new colours to add to my cosmetics family.

About a year ago I converted to this amazing brand of makeup, and I've always chosen them ever since. The girls are amazing, and so are their products, so choosing where to go was the easy question, the colours were the hard part. After a long discussion, we decided on going for a feature on the lips... and then the fun began.

The end results in a lilac and an orange; a bright and fun pallet as we come out of the cold, dark, gloomy weather.

Lilac Lips:
Lipstick: DeVine Goddess in Calipso
mixed with Eyeliners: China Doll in Alabaster and Teal
Lipgloss: Luminous Lip Veils in Cherchez la Femme

Orange Lips:
Lipstick: DeVine Goddess in Hara
Lipgloss: Lip Lacuer in Ambrosia Gold

1 more day to go! With Australian fashion lovers having been on the countdown for months now, the day has finally come for the The David Jones Spring Summer 2012 Fashion Launch, and its coming bigger and better than ever.

With this Winter being particularly cold, I cant wait for some bright colours, patterns and prints to be spotted walking around the city as we come into the warmer weather. The fabrics used this year are heard to be show stopping! The runway show will be featuring the usual range of amazing designers such as Akira, Alex Perry, Camilla & Marc, Collette Dinnigan, Easton Pearson, Ginger & Smart, Gary Bigeni, Isola by Megan Gale, Lisa Ho, Ksubi, Romance Was Born, Dion Lee, Josh Goot, Lover, Willow and Zimmermann. And for the first time ever, the normally exclusive event can be seen tomorrow from 7pm online at the live stream on the David Jones website, exciting!

from top to bottom: 1. J BRAND, 2. delias, 3. nastygal, 4. ally

Floral is the new print for Spring, and instead of the usual dresses and skirts, its all about the jeans and pants. They are on every front table as you walk into a store, but I'm finding it incredibly hard to find the perfect ones. The 4 above are ones that I've fallen for, and I think because they aren't over-the-top busy with print and give off a feminine feel. Other stores like Dotti, Ally, Forever New, General Pants and Cotton On have great selections too, majority with black as their sole background colour, in turn creating a more edgy look.

Paired with a basic top, sheer collared button up or tuck in a body suit for an easy, casual, everyday look. Or even roll up and cuff the bottoms and chuck on some heels to take them into the night time.

I have come to find that my black skater skirt can be matched with any thing possible to piece together an outfit, as it's become my sole necessity when I don't know what to wear. Matching it with my metallic top from Bettina Liano adds another excuse to tie in my new favourite accessory- my rose gold Marc Jacobs watch. Ive slowly started to collect other rose gold pieces to wear with it, and the colour itself is definately on the cards as being my new found obsession.
